Meeting Leo

"Are you sure it's this door?" asked Lily.

"One hundred percent," said Archie as he grabbed the door knob. "Process of elimination dictates an increased success rate with each failed attempt and this is the final door."

"Of course it is," Perry said with a sigh.

The door swung open with a high pitched creak to reveal a gigantic telescope in the middle of the room with stacks of parchment, some being as tall as them, lined up against the walls. Perry's curiosity couldn't help but grab a parchment on top of a stack next to the door. On it was what appeared to him to be a splatter of dots all connected by lines to form an unrecognizable, angular shape.

Perry showed the parchment to Archie. "What is this suppose to be?"

"Why that's Ursa Major."

More confused than before, Perry looked back at Lily to see if Archie's answer made any sense to her. She could only reply with shrugged shoulders while shaking her head.

"The what Major?" asked Perry.

"The Great Bear of the northern celestial hemisphere," came a voice in the room.

Startled by the unexpected voice, Perry and Lily looked around to find a man hunched down at the bottom of telescope.

"Leo!" Archie erupted across the room, startling Perry and Lily even more "I have returned."

The man raised one his hands only for a second to acknowledge Archie's arrival. "Salutations, Archie," he said in a monotone voice as if Archie was away only for a moment.

"Salutations, Leo," Archie replied with enthusiasm, "I also have guests with me." Archie motioned for the others to follow him.

Perry put the parchment in another stack and followed his friend to the massive telescope. Stopping behind the man, Perry looked up and noticed the top of the telescope was sticking out of a hole in the roof that he imagined was made with a very faulty crowbar.

"Introducing Leo," said Archie. Leo remained hunched down with one eye on the eyepiece of the telescope and the other on a parchment that his hand was furiously scribbling more dots and lines on with an inked quill.

"Hello, Leo...sir. I'm Lily. Lily Eventide."

"Salutations, Lily," said Leo as he replaced the parchment with another with minimal movement. "Capricorn?"

Lily paused to try and process Leo's last word. "I'm sorry, I don't quite understand."

"Hmm, a Capricorn indeed. Precise, polite, practical, at a loss with the unconventional," Leo said as if talking to himself.

"Leo is referring to your birth sign," said Archie, "Those certainly are traits that you carry."

"Oh, right. Of course. That IS my sign. I should have known that..." said Lily.

Perry cleared his throat. "Hello, Leo. I'm Perry. I-"

Leo's quill scraped to a halt. "Perry," said Leo, "Pisces? From Pyramid city?"

"Yes...and yes. I came here to-"

Leo removed his eye from the telescope eyepiece and looked at Perry for a moment before eventually standing up to examine the puzzled young man. Lily could see Perry's body tense up at Leo's lack of personal boundaries.
With Leo's face hovering dangerously close to his own, Perry noticed a series of circles within themselves imprinted around his eye with what he shortly realized were the mirror image of the numbers on the eyepiece.

Leo finally stepped away to claw through a stack of nearby parchments. "Such a presentiment," he said, "Clark's plan involved you remaining in Pyramid City."

"Clark? My dad?! Is he still here?" asked Perry.
